Academics
Our elementary instructional program meets or exceeds all of
the accreditation standards set by the Southern Association
of Colleges and Schools. Our preschool program meets or exceeds
all N.A.E.Y.C. standards. Our academic program is both challenging
and rewarding. We believe children must enjoy learning in order
to better reap the benefits of their knowledge. Green Gate has
a reputation of academic excellence.
Our textbooks, reading, language arts, science, social science,
and math series, are current editions and our educational environment
is structured to meet the needs of each child on an individual
level.
Individually, a majority of our students scored 1 to 3 grades
above their present grade level. Scores over the past ten years
have been consistently higher compared to others taking the
test nationwide.
Extended Day
We are proud to have been Montgomery's
first private school to offer extended child care. We still
understand the needs of professional working parents and have
30 years of experience behind us. Green Gate opens at 7:00 am
for early birds and closes at 6:00 pm for after-school care.
Summer Fun
One of our finest programs is our great summer fun program.
The joy of learning continues as children enjoy a fun, supervised,
yet enriching summer. Our summer program is designed to meet
the needs of children 2 years through 11 years old. Our summer
is loaded with great activities, field trips, and a tutoring
service should your child need extra enrichment. We also offer
swimming as a class, during our summer fun program. Ask the
office for summer information.
Activities
Educational activities play a vital role at Green Gate and we
offer a wide variety of activities. Music, Spanish, art, library,
computers, and physical education are part of
our daily curriculum. Piano, art, dance, gymnastics, Orff music,
and manners are available after school for a small fee. Grades
fourth through sixth participate in school sports teams. We
are a member of the Southern Athletic Conference. Many Green
Gate children also enjoy sports through the YMCA youth program.
Green Gate also sponsors a Cub Scout pack and a Girl Scout/Brownie
troop.
